Safety and reporting guidance
If something feels wrong, slow down before paying or sending more information. These steps are general guidance — not legal advice and not a promise of recovery.
If you suspect a scam
- Pause payment. Do not send more money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers while you verify the request.
- Stop sharing sensitive information. Do not provide passwords, verification codes, remote-access tools, or identity documents to an unverified sender.
- Secure affected accounts. Change passwords on accounts that may be exposed, turn on multi-factor authentication where available, and review recent login and payment activity.
- Preserve evidence. Save screenshots, messages, receipts, URLs, seller names, and payment confirmations before they disappear.
- Contact your bank or payment provider. If you already paid, ask about chargeback, dispute, or fraud-report options as soon as possible. Timing and eligibility depend on your payment method and provider rules.
- Use official reporting channels. Report fraud to appropriate authorities and consumer reporting organizations in your country. In the United States, common starting points include the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and the FBI IC3 for internet crime at ic3.gov. Use the official site for your jurisdiction when outside the U.S.

After you run a check
Read the result label together with the evidence sections. Labels such as Likely Safe and Not High Risk are not guarantees. If Assayer returns Uncertain, add one specific missing item — such as the checkout page, seller profile, or payment method — before making a large payment.
You can delete your private report from the report page when you no longer need it. See the Privacy Policy for retention and deletion details.
