Install and phone access

Share a link, message, or picture with Assayer. It opens your private result automatically. You can also use the website scanner anytime. Assayer does not offer a native App Store or Play Store application.

Set up Assayer on your phone

Android: install Assayer to the Home screen, then use Share in another app and choose Assayer.

iPhone or iPad: add the Assayer Shortcut when the verified link becomes available, then use Share in another app and choose the Shortcut.

Browser fallback: open Assayer and paste text or choose a saved picture.

Android

Install Assayer to the Home screen. Then use Share in another app and choose Assayer.

On an Android phone in Chrome: open Assayer, then use the browser menu to Install app or Add to Home screen when offered. This is not an App Store or Play Store download.

iPhone or iPad

Add the Assayer Shortcut when the verified link becomes available. Then use Share in another app and choose the Shortcut.

A verified public Assayer Shortcut link is not configured yet.

When the verified Shortcut link becomes available, add it once, then use Share in another app and choose the Shortcut. Until then, open Assayer in your phone browser and paste text or choose a saved picture. This is not an App Store download.

Suspicious phone calls

Call evidence must be a transcript, notes, related message, URL, or picture. Assayer does not listen to calls or analyze audio.

Set up the browser extension

The Assayer browser extension adds a small Assayer button to Chrome or Edge. Click it while viewing a page to scan that page and open your private result.

The Assayer extension is still in private testing. A public store download is not available yet.

Until a verified Chrome or Edge listing is configured, use the website scanner, or follow the private testing steps below if you are an authorized tester.

Private testing instructions

These steps are for authorized local or private testing only. They are not the eventual public installation method.

  1. Build the extension for the Assayer address being tested (for local QA: ASSAYER_EXTENSION_ORIGIN=http://localhost:8080 ASSAYER_EXTENSION_PACKAGING=development npm run extension:build).
  2. Open Chrome or Edge Extensions.
  3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. Choose Load unpacked.
  5. Select the documented extension folder, not extension/dist.
  6. Pin the Assayer button.
  7. Keep the matching Assayer website/server reachable.
  8. Open a normal page and click Assayer once.
